Problem with pdf file

Hi all, I found myself faced with a new problem. I downloaded a pdf file of a plan to build a model aircraft. I’ve downloaded many others but this one doesn’t allow me to select one part at a time. For example, when importing the page where the wing is, I can’t select the wing by itself and consequently I can’t cut it. So are all the other details.

how can i attach the file?

Add a ‘.txt’ extension to the file name, the forum will then let you attach it.

stearman.txt (1.3 MB)

Unfortunately it’s as I suspected: This one is a raster format PDF rather than vector format. You might be able to perform a centreline trace in Inkscape or similar vector graphics app which will then enable you to do what you want.

Attached file has been centreline traced in CorelDRAW, hopefully it’s of some help.

Yes, I concur. Raster image in the PDF, not vector paths you can individually select. Good news, I found a link that should provide what you are after, the vector version directly from the designer.

Even better! :+1:

It’s the same one I downloaded and it doesn’t work. instead the one elaborated with CORELDRAW works, too bad I don’t know how to make the change

The file I attached will need some (possibly extensive!) node editing in LightBurn before it’s usable but hopefully it’ll get you some way to a solution. If you don’t have access to CorelDRAW you can do the same centreline tracing in Inkscape (which is free!).

I had not registered, nor downloaded or reviewed this file directly. I have now, and note, I too am not finding the vector version of this build in that download. Odd, as they do say it should be included. I have posted on that site asking for an explanation and how we can access the vector version of this build.

Will update once I receive feedback.

Update:

Thank you, we look forward to a reply from Sponz

You can post to that thread as well. Might help to show there is more than one wanting to cut these using a laser.
