Good evening, I hope you can help me. I have a Comgrow 5w machine and I have been making all kinds of engravings without any problem. Yesterday I received the roller and made some test engravings without problems, but when I removed the roller to engrave pieces that I usually work with I am getting the following message “cut may be out of bounds due to overscan setting”. I don’t know what to do. Please Help.
‘Overscanning’ refers to extra scan distance past the start and end of the graphics you’re engraving to give your laser space to speed up and slow down before and after firing.
If you have your graphics positioned close to the edge of your workspace and are using ‘Absolute Coordinates’ as your ‘Start From’ mode, LightBurn is warning you that there is not enough physical distance to make these overscanning moves.
The faster you command your laser to run, the more overscanning distance will be required, so it’s also possible that you’ve set your laser to run very fast and it needs a great deal of distance to make overscanning moves. In that case you’ll need to slow it down.
Thanks Tyler.
