I have problems with lightburn processing the layers in the wrong order.
I have sorted my layers in the order they should be processed ( in the cuts/Layers panel in right side), where the layer to be executed first is at the top and the bottom layer of the layer to be executed last, but Lightburn does not respect this order.
how do I get the layers to be executed in the order I want, so that “fill” is executed before “Lines”?
Always show us your settings, so we don’t have to guess .
Even better, post your work file here so we can poke around the insides.
Check your optimization settings. If order by layer is not at the top, it wont be prioritized. Also check that Optimize cut path is on.
Ok - I have make a screenshot of my settings, but there was no Insert image posibillity !
In the reply box, there is an icon that looks like an arrow pointing up from a rectangle… that is the upload icon.
You have almost certainly turned off the ‘Optimize Cut Path’ toggle in the laser window.
If that is off (red) then you’ve told LightBurn it isn’t allowed to re-order the shapes for cutting. Ordering by layer is part of that.
People turn this off by accident often enough that I’ve moved the switch for the 1.8 version of LightBurn, so it will be much harder to do by accident in the future.
To be insert screen shot directly into the forum, open a reply window and press Ctrl+v to paste, or you can right click on the reply window and select paste from the drop down menu.
