We are aware of an issue causing some users to see a change in units used for their cut settings in version 2.1, and will have a fix ready for our next patch release (expected soon).
The cause: starting in 2.0, we allowed users to set separate units for design and control (cut settings), where they had previously been linked. Many users preferred the prior behavior of linking these settings, so in 2.1 we added a toggle to enable or disable linking. We also added another setting for device units.
Finally, we implemented fallback logic to assign design, control, and device units to sensible settings. A gap in this logic meant that users who design in inches but set their cut settings in mm/sec or mm/min would see their control units set to inches/sec.
Here’s how to fix this issue now:
-
Click the wrench icon in the top toolbar, or go to Laser Tools → Device Settings to open the Device Settings window.

-
In the Dimensions/Units tab you’ll see a dropdown menu under the words Control Units. Select your preferred units from that menu.

-
Choose whether to enable or disable Link Control and Design Units.

-
If you leave this switch enabled, the units you use to create and modify graphics in your Workspace will also change. You will also be able to change both Control and Design units again at any time by selecting from two radio buttons in the Numeric Edits Toolbar.
-
If you disable the Link switch, you can adjust your Design Units using the radio buttons in the Numeric Edits Toolbar without affecting your Control Units.
