Public RC - 1.7.00 - Layer settings not sticking?

morning , trying out 1.7rc 7
one thing ive found is it wont save cut settings
have checked and load defult layer settings on new or start up is on

What have you set your defaults to? If that switch is enabled it means that the cut settings reset to whatever defaults you specified. If you’ve never told it what to use, it’ll use our defaults (100mm/sec, 20% power). If you want to provide your own defaults, go into the Cut Settings Edit window and click ‘Make Default’ or ‘Make Default for All’ at the bottom.

If you turn the “use default on new / startup” toggle to OFF then it uses whatever the last settings on the layer were.

the settings are exactly the same as in 1.6.03 it just wont work in 1.7

You didn’t answer the question - What have you set your default settings to?

1.6 fixed a bug in the way that the default layer settings were applied. It used to be that if you hadn’t set your own defaults, it would just ignore that setting. Now, if the “reset to defaults” is enabled, it applies OUR defaults if you’ve never set a default (100mm/sec & 20% power).

i did an export bundle from 1.6.3 of all setting and imported it to 1.7
where is this reset to default
is that the one below save cut selected which is off .
am i missing something

You have this setting enabled:

That means LightBurn will reset all the layers to either the “factory” default settings (ours), or whatever default settings you set by opening a Cut Setting Edit window and clicking “make default”.

If you want it to just remember whatever the last thing you used was turn off that switch, but it means any time you load anyone else’s file your “settings” get overwritten, because it just remembers the last used settings, not ones you explicitly told it to use.

hi yes
i understand that ,
thats what im saying i have set my own defaults,
but when i start a new job it goes to your defaults.
i have all the same boxes ticked in 1.6.3
and it loads my defaults each time
could it be that the bundles import isn’t saving into 1.7

1.7 is a pre-release, so it is using different settings than 1.6.03. If you export the settings from 1.6 and import them into 1.7, that should work.
