Tip: Quick pre-check for broken DXFs that cause “open shapes” warnings***

If you’re getting open shapes / duplicate lines warnings on client DXFs (especially from Illustrator), I’ve been using a free browser tool I built called DXFix to clean them before import.

It does:

  • Auto-close micro-gaps within tolerance
  • Merge duplicates
  • Arc fitting for faceted curves

Runs 100% locally, no upload. Has saved me a lot of manual node editing.

There is also a select open shapes, that can select those and tell you which one is open. At least you know what you’re dealing with…
