I have a Cloudray 60 watt Mopa fiber laser i am trying to engrave a Rainbow tumbler for the first time what power settings do you recomend on rainbow tumblers to get through the powder coat but not etch into the cup to deep to lose the rainbow color.
Fiber laser is really the wrong machine for tumblers. First off, every fiber laser is different, nobody else’s settings will work for you, you need to figure out settings for your machine. Second, each and every color, each and every manufacturer of tumblers will have different settings. Very difficult to not get into the metal, especially on the rainbow tumblers. If you really want to use that machine, I’d plan on a lot of testing time, and burning through a few tumblers to get settings figured out. That’s really the only way you’ll figure out what’s right for your particular machine.
