I’ve tried to attach a photo with mo luck. But I’ll ask anyway…what are the chances that, knowing my start coordinates and exact workpiece placement, i could re-burn a small section of text? I guess it must have skipped. I tightened a couple of bolts that were minimally loose.
Any hints to check placement if i attempt this? I usually do a practice piece on cardboard to check placement when i need to, but, not being able to see through cardboard, I’m not sure how this wouls help this situation. Your thoughts please!
I just reselect parts I want to redo and hit start.
Given that the frame has moved and the material has likely moved, knowing the previous coordinates won’t get you anywhere, because they don’t apply to the current setup.
I’ve used Print-and-Cut to align the pattern to the workpiece, although it’s somewhat tedious.
Identify two widely separated spots in the design that are easy to find. Ideally, they’ll be sharp points or dots or something similar.
Then:
- Jog the laser to put the beam on one of the spots
- Click that spot in the design as the first P-n-C target
- Jog to the other spot
- Click that spot in the design as the second P-n-C target
- Align without scaling
Select the part of the design you want to re-burn and do a test run with low power on a sheet of cardboard to verify your setup before committing to the final burn.
Or just regard the partial piece as scrap for future projects and move on … been there, done that, too.
Try securing a piece of cardboard large enough to hold the work piece. Cut out the shape of the work piece on the cardboard (making a location template). Place item and burn just the extra text.
Thanks for your response. The piece is still tolerable even if i don’t try to re burn it.
Thanks. I think i might give that a try.
