I am using glued up pine boards to engrave text on. One of the boards is much more dense than the others so it is about half as deep and not very visible. Is there a way to select what lines to re-engrave on the Y axis? Basically I want to cut a word in half and redo the top half.
If you have not moved your item and changed text to path, you can (only) select the parts you want engraved an extra time and start again.
My issue is that I need to re etch just the top half of an entire word because the board glue lines are horizontal. So in this image, I just want to etch the portion in the square.
It can be done but requires a little work.
I duplicate the text and draw a “cut tool”. The result you can see. Unfortunately, I think it will be difficult to engrave again without seeing the transition.
Thanks. I will give it a shot. Due to the top board being obviously harder pine, it is only about half as deep as the rest causing a defined transition so I don’t think it can get much worse. Haha
