Reconnecting after laptop powers off

Hi there,
This seems like a beginner issue but after much searching, I can’t seem to find an answer.. though that is only partly true. When I come back to my laptop, Win 11 Home and my Creality Falcon 40w, the laser doesnt restart. I need to shut down LB and then it find it and connects. Ivec tried right click on devices, going into devices and comm etc but nothing seems to work.. I would have thought there were a simpler way?
Many thanks, Neil.

As a start try loading a backup file from when it worked:

Could be the Windows USB Energy Saver kicked in. That disconnects the port.

To prevent Windows from turning off USB devices to save power, disable the “Allow the computer to turn off this device” setting in Device Manager. For a global fix, disable “USB selective suspend” in the Control Panel’s advanced power settings. These actions stop peripherals like mice, keyboards, and external drives from unexpectedly disconnecting.

When mine “loses” the laser, I unplug the USB, click on the COMx box so it shows “(Choose)”, then reconnect the USB. In my settings, this initiates a Home cycle and I know it is back online.

USB issues are 99.8% Windows or cable issues.
