Red Dot not Centered in Frame

I have gone through 9-point lense correction, and I also aligned the frame to line up with where the laser fires (so my red frame shows precisely where the laser path will cut)… But when the laser is at “rest” - not firing, the red dot is not even close to centered in the red frame.

Could someone tell me how to move the red dot to the center of the frame?

Thank you!

Check your REST position

Unsure why, but even if the center of workspace, (In my case here 150x150) with galvos 0,0 puts the dot in the middle. If taking photos sometimes its nice to move it off the center so it doesn’t mess up the image.

Moving the rest position, doesn’t move the red dot at all (at least on my set-up).

Is it possible the red dot you are referring to is for focusing? If you put the cap on the lens, does the dot disappear?

Yes, that (those) are the lights I’m referring to.

Should be a set screw or similar to adjust those. Have to re-set each time you change lenses. If I understand you correctly.

Got it!

Thank you!

Only problem is… Now that I’ve set them up and everything is aligned; now the laser work mark anymore… Not sure what I did. I must have changed some setting, but I don’t know what. Now it ACTS like it’s marking, but it just runs the red light through the pathway, and the workpiece gets a little warm, but no mark. power and frequency are both set to 60 (which I’ve used to successfully mark this material before), so I don’t know.

Check focus? (Not with the lasers)
Also, if you think you might have inadvertantly changed a setting, you can go back and re-load earlier file.

I put this on your other post. I’d check the laser focus.

Yes, this solved the issue.

Thanks again!

You will probably decide focusing lasers are not the best way to go, eventually. A stick cut to length is the way a lot of fiber laser users assure repeatability.
Here are some nice ones but don’t need to be that fancy. Try to avoid contact with the lens surface.
