I recently got the Gweike Cloud 50w CO2 laser and was successful at getting it to connect to LightBurn. I am able to frame a job, move the X,Y and Z axis independently, but when I select START to run a job or print, I get a Red indicator on the round white button. I checked the tray safety switch which is down, looked for any obstructions in the enclosure and changed the usb cable. Not sure what the issue is. Can anyone help?
Since there isn’t a console, the machine turns on the red indicator telling you there is a problem detected by the Ruida.
It’s likely a coordinates system error where the code is attempting to drive it out of bounds.
What are you lasing, how fast, device settings origin setting and the start from setting in the laser window.
It’s likely you will have better luck if you use absolute coordinates for a start from value.
Let us know if it has helped… if not, include a screenshot of both your cut/layer window and your laser window settings.
Does it work properly using their software?
Did you check the coolant water level?
Thanks Aaron for your suggestion, I thought the same so I checked it and the coolant is about 1/2 inch from the top of the reservoir. Another forum said it may be the limit switches. But those are good.
It does not. It does the exact same thing as LightBurn.
Well, that means it’s something with the machine and not Lightburn. Might still be a configuration issue or something common to bot hsoftwares, but more likely, mechanical/electrical.
Edit: I recommend contacting Gweike. They should be able to interpret the flash pattern to error message.
Post a photo of the device settings or tell us where the origin for your machine is. It looks like it’s set for top/right, I thought they were top/left…?
It’s very likely that you machine cannot run 1000mm/s, which could drive it our of bounds trying to get to speed or slow down… So far, I think your machines origin is incorrect, can you check it?
I finally got it working! I thank all that have helped with recommendations, suggestions and support. I have discovered that there are several different versions of the Gweike Cloud CO2 laser. Please be aware that Gweike Tech Support is not very efficient nor helpful due to the many versions of their machines. On my specific machine which is the Gweike Cloud Pro II 50W CO2 laser, Series: G23019-xxxx Manufactured: Feb 2023 there is an “Interlock” located on the left backside of the machine that requires an “Activation Key”. This key must be plugged in order for the machine to execute a job. The instructions and Gweike Tech Support fail to tell you this.
Hope this helps someone
Incredible! Just one more random point of failure that is totally unnecessary. Glad you figured it out.
If you could put a console on this it would have give you an error message of some type. Without a console, we really are just guessing.
Glad it’s functional - have fun.
