Relief Carving - Work in Progress

That’s exactly what frustrates me as well, especially the Z movement behavior. From what I can tell, not much has changed in the latest versions, or at least I haven’t found any settings that significantly improve it. Excessive Z lifts, slow plunges, retracting out of a hole just to drop back into the same spot… it really adds up over long jobs.

That said, I’m still waiting for Vectric version 13 :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: My slightly impulsive, upgrade-compulsive nature tends to push me toward the newest version whether I truly need it or not. I probably don’t, but I’ll still look at it. It’s the same reason I already have LightBurn upgrades paid 12 years into the future

A big plus, in my opinion, is the direct contact with the developers who actually listen and respond. I honestly haven’t experienced that before with other software. That’s a huge added value in both LightBurn and MillMage.

Beyond that, I find Vectric’s workflow less intuitive compared to LightBurn, which I’ve been using for years. LightBurn just feels logical and fluid. From what I see in MillMage, it follows that same philosophy, which is a big reason I’m cheering for its development. As soon as the Pro version is released, it will definitely land on my desk.

Thanks again for being open about the direction and the challenges.

Oh I do like that idea  , the though of being able to cut out say a huge 1200 x 3000 slab with say words and than laser around of each letter to make them pop, takes it to a whole new playing field. currently limited to putting my algo laser on slab and only doing max of 400x 800 engraving which sometimes isn’t big enough for the size of slab

keep up the awesome work and new ideas
