just a quick and simple question. How do i remove the back ground from photos of individuals in when importing photos.

Most software that is for images, will do this. I’d suggest you pick one and learn how to drive it. There are a number of operations that can’t easily be done with Lightburn and background removal is one of them.
I use Gimp and use the same filename, but add a -nbg to it.. That way I know it’s been removed.
There are many choices out there.
