Hello,
Bellow are two versions of dots I was able to create using my Thunder Laser Nova 51 100W with the Beam Buddy HR Laser Head.
Dot Mode Dots:
Fill Mode Dots:
The Fill Mode Dots are created by tracing a pattern of dots made specifically to be etched into acrylic.
The Dot Mode Dots are perfect. The laser seems to stop at each location and “pulse” at a power I specify. I want to do exactly that, but following my specific pattern with specific center points.
Is this possible?
Thank you in advance.

If that’s “tracing” as in “converting an image to vectors”, then you’re likely hitting two problems:
LightBurn does not do center-line tracing, so it produces two continuous parallel vectors around each dot
Burning those tiny vectors proceeds at a snail’s pace
Upload (a piece of) the original image and the *.lbrn2 file so we can look over your shoulder.

Besides @ednisley – adding these possibilities.
Looks like Lightburn is, maybe, re-encoding your graphic.
Did you try a test enabling passthrough mode in the cut/layer window?
This could also be speed related, what speed/interval are you using… Help us clarify what you’re doing.

Had to look it up… it’s Canadian, so it’s unlikely I’ve seen them, thanks.
Can you tell us the spot size in mm?
