I reduced a file that had lots of slots to 90% but still needed them to accommodate 3 mm wood. So, I selected all the slots (They all highlighted so I knew I got them all) in the part, and ungrouped them. Then went to tools and selected the slot tool and chose width. It got most of them but missed several. When I tried to select them one at a time and use the tool it had no effect. What am I doing wrong
Basically, you are not doing anything wrong The tool just does not recognize all shapes as tabs/slots. This can be because there are too many nodes in that shape. Run the “shape optimizer” tool before, then it should work better. I have some pictures of the steps listed here: FAQ - Diode Laser Wiki (third question from bottom)
Thanks for the info.
I ran the optimize shapes tool under the edit menu “optimize selected shapes” and it still missed some slots.
They maybe out of range. So are not included.
well, I thought i had a solution. I individualized, optimized and tried to resize. It took initially, but now nothing works very frustrating
So to be clear, attempting to resize a project to 90% of size. then individualizing entire project parts, then optimizing, then trying to resize slots because of the 90% resize and need the 3mm width. The software seems boggy, yes I am using the latest rev. and it does not capture any of the slots.
If you resize I think then you have to measure slots to enter into old material thickness, then enter new thickness. maybe increase tolerance.
there is was increase the tolerance and all is well. Thank you so much all.
