Resolution for Photo

I guess I don’t know the correct way to phrase the question for the search function. Everything I enter returns information for the Lightburn cameras. What is the recommended or lowest resolution a photo needs to be for engraving. Thanks

The size of the photo will ultimately determine the maximum resolution. For example, if you select 200 lines per inch and your photo is 600 pixels tall (tiny photo), you’ll have a pretty small image on your work piece. 600 / 200 is 3 inches. If you have a higher resolution photo, say 4000w x 3000h, you could go to 15 inches and expect reasonable results. There could be some artifacting if the image is of unusual shapes (stripes/dots/etc.)

Determine your desired lines per inch and run from there with the required resolution for the photo.
