Rookie advice on cutting acrylic

I have a Sculpfun S30 Pro with which I’ve mastered clean cuts with 3mm basswood but now I want to cut 2mm black acrylic.

The acrylic has protective plastic - do I leave this in place or remove it on one side or both?

Does anyone with the same machine have some suggested settings?

Thanks

Mike

I have the same machine but have never cut black. I did manage to cut 3mm red transparent, but the settings would not likely to apply..

Have you tried the Lightburn Material Test tool? I recommend 10mm-15mm squares rather than the default 5mm size. Your results will better match longer cuts.

To my experience, acrylic cuts better at slow speeds. Using the 10W Sculpfuns, I think I used something about 200mm/min at 80% or so. Adjust the passes according to the thickness.
