Laser: Commarker Omni1
Computer: Mac Mini M4, Sequoia V15.3.1
Lightburn version: 1.7.06
Rotary: Commarker R5, link below.
I started setting up the rotary today and everything was working fine. Tests were running, and I was dialing in the settings to get a test cup engraved. To be clear, the rotary tool was functional in running a file, and I was able to jog it, and run the test in the setup.
I went to to modify the split size in the rotary setup, Lightburn briefly froze upon clicking “test” after that modification was made and then I haven’t been able to get to the rotary tool working since. Nothing is working anymore and the rotary is almost completely unresponsive.
I say ‘almost’, as I can verify power is going to the unit since there’s resistance on trying to manually turn it by hand.
Things I’ve tried:
Verified all connections are working
Updated all mac software and updated to the latest Lightburn release.
Erased Lightburn preferences and went back to a ‘factory state’, re-setup the laser.
Switched out the chuck rotary with the rollers, same response.
Searched about 12-15 other threads and tried resolutions within those that were mentioned for other rotaries.
I had the same issue where I was able to test the rotary function and when I went to run a test burn, the rotary stopped working. I have been in contact with ComMarker and it appears that there is an issue with the board and static that causes an over voltage issue. They stated that they have a fix for the issue and are sending out a new board and fix procedure. Reach out to ComMarker and explain the issue. Their support is very helpful and they will respond with a fix.
