I have a strong willing to buy the license of Lightburn because I have researched that this software is the greatest and most valuable software. Yep, I think it’s worth to pay. However, after I download and Install Lightburn, I still found some problem which cannot fulfil my mission.
Please let me to do the prologue more, in order that you can understand my problem.
First of all, I’ve bought Mr.Carve M3 a month ago, and at the first time I found that it’s not compatible to lightburn as it advertised. However, this is not my main issue because after that I have found Mr.Carve M3’s firmware for Lightburn. Then I flashed the firmware, and it seems like Mr.Carve can work with Lightburn. However, because I was too new for laser engraving and feel like lightburn is too complicated for me at that time, so I flashed it back to original firmware and used their given original software/mobile app for simple tasks workaround without further testing or trial lightburn at that time.
A month passed, I think Daja RT4 which is its brand’s rotary device was not satisfied me in its flexibility of adjustment, I’ve try to search some new rotary with chuck. But the problem is that most of them are connected to the engrvaing machine with 4-pin at Y-axis, while Daja RT4 use USB port to connect with its Mr.Carve M3. (because Mr.Carve M3 is a frame body machine, I cannot unplug the Y-axis as same as other brands’ users.) However, finally I found, that USB port is just a fake one, it’s just wiring from any axis to USB port. So, I tested to do wiring with a new rotary I have ordered. OK, the new rotary can roll, but very faster speed than Daja RT4, that make me cannot use it with its software because that simple software doesn’t provide any Rotary Setup setting. It means I cannot set the step or speed by its own software.
And this is my key…back to think about Lightburn. (I just bought a new laptop, so I can run the new trial, even last trial I just tested only an hour in previous laptop and it’s expired.)
Then I’ve flashed the firmware of Mr.Carve M3 machine to Lightburn version again. (Let’s say it is Lightburn version, I will not say it’s GRBL firmware because after flashed to this version, all other software cannot be used, even its own original software and mobile application. Only Lightburn!) By this firmware version, I can test engraving normal surface material.
But when I tried to connect it with rotary after Rotary setup by follow the tutorial vdo from Mr.Carve (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLnB2R5rbDE : @4.03minute) and run testing and preview the job, nothing happen. I have tried and tried to change parameters and tried to change to Y-axis (in the video they use Z-axis), but whatever I did it failed to make the rotary run. That happen to both Daja RT4 and my new rotary, both of them seemed not to response (no any movement) the command from the machine and/or Lightburn. I have tested to flash the firmware back to the original one, and tested with its given software again, both of them are back to moveable. So, by this info I think it’s not malfunction of the rotary device, but it might be the problem of communication between Mr.Carve M3 and Lightburn.
Sorry, for long prologue.
But what I need is to make Mr.Carve M3 to be able to connect and control the rotary device via Lightburn software. I hope you understand, I love the way Lightburn work and its features but I have to ensure that I can use it with my devices, both Mr.Carve M3 and Daja RT4 (or the new rotary I just purchased).
Pleae give me any solution or suggestion in order that I can solve it.
Thank you in advance for your great support.
