I’m running the galvo version of Lightburn on Windows 10.
I’m having issues with the “Start” dialog not popping up, while using the rotary.
I wasn’t having an issue, until I upgraded to 1.7.02 from 1.7.01.
I noticed an issue with the “Start” dialog not popping up, when using the rotary.
The first time I click start, the rotary dialog pops up and I’m able to frame, start the job, etc., but after the job finishes, I can’t rerun it and if I close the dialog and click “Start” again, the dialog won’t popup again.
The only reliable way that I’ve found to get the start dialog to return is to exit out of Lightburn and restart it. Then I once again can run 1 job.
I’m not sure if this is an issue with my environment or what, but it started right after the upgrade.
Rebooting, reloading the job, etc. couldn’t get my start dialog back.
My system wasn’t hung as I could do other things such as saving my job and updating my layer setings.
My solution for now was to uninstall 1.7.02 and reinstall 1.7.01 and the problem has gone away.
If anyone else runs into this, please let me know, otherwise I’ll assume it’s something on my end and will troubleshoot more or possibly wait for the next update.
I have a very similar problem in version 1.7.0.3 with a Galvo laser.
I activate the rotary, press the test button, it rotates smoothly, everything is fine.
But when I start the job, in rare cases I get the “Rotary Start Dialog,” but most of the time it doesn’t appear, and neither the laser starts the job nor does the rotary turn. No error message shows up.
thanks for your reply.
I tested it on:
1.7.00
1.7.01
1.7.02
1.7.03
1.7.04 RC1
same issue on Windows 11 HP PC.
Switched to my Mac, everything is fine and works perfekt.
Maybe it is a Problem with my Windows PC? I dont know but i stay on Mac now, its fine for me.
It sounds like you are resourceful and have already done a bunch of troubleshooting and may have already eliminated issues with USB cables and ports, but it does sound similar to issues I’ve had with long or loose USB cables in the past.
If the connection is lost the dialog won’t pop up.
Interesting approach, but the cable length is the one supplied with the laser and even longer on the Mac because a 10cm USB A to C cable adapter is connected. And it didn’t work on 2 Galvo lasers. So I’m just blaming it on Windows.
But thank you for the tip, I’ll remember to always make sure not to use USB extensions.
