Rotary on U axis instead of Y axis

What do I have to do so that the U axis moves when engraving?

Unfortunately, that’s set inside the controller, where changing it involves a firmware upgrade and some tweaking with RDWorks:

Update: we have a success. The steps were almost there but needed a little more clarification. Two prerequisite: The firmware for RDC6445G needs to be .30 in my case it was v35.01.30 Need to have RDWorksV8(8.01.60) which allows for the change the controller-based ‘Rotating axis’ setting to ‘Axis U’ or “Axis Y’ Process: Part 1 - RDWorks Load RDWorks (make sure controller/machine is on) In control section on right side select ‘User’ tab. Select ‘Read’ the settings, Once bar reaches 100%,…

Unless you have that specific controller, do not attempt to load that firmware.

It may be that your controller already has that firmware, so fire up RDWorks and see if you can tweak the setting.
