Hello, i want to ask a favor. I need your advice in regards with in issue that i am facing when I use a rortary promax coneected to a sculpfun s30 ultra 33W.
Whenever I try to engrave a logo on a thumbler it starts by cutting a little bit from my design (it does not engrave exactly the shape that I choose as you can see on the attached picture).
I use the rotary axe, not chuck.
The thumbler diameter was correclty measured and i chose the corect mm per rotation, but still the engraving result presents the same issue.
Show the settings you used to do that. Here is some additional guidance:
Do you use the Sculpfun rotary? Then you need to change the values in the rotary assistant (mm/rotation and roller diameter).
Yes, i am using the sculpfun rotary.
which one are the correct values?
i set them like in the manual, 40.5mm/rotation, but i need to change to 38.42mm/rotation because it overlapped the image on the thumblers that i engraved. even if i use at 40.5mm/rotation the same thing happened (with that setting was my first attempt
and roller diameter 20 mm.
thank you very much for your help
Ah, that’s the RA Pro Max. I though you were talking about the “normal” rotary. Then the settings are different / correctly mentioned in the manual. I was talking about the old rotary.
I guess you did the test button and measured that the rollers turn exactly 360°?
Check out this YT video looks the same as your issue: https://youtu.be/OgwA4H-YGJ8?si=aVXhB-GqGmSnmCwr&t=287
In the video the incorrect polarity of the Y-axis direction signal caused this problem.
Judging from your picture, it looks like you changed the setting for ‘Y Direction pin invert’ from being originally True to False?
If that is the case, then try setting that back to ‘True’ for roller use, as discussed in the video you will need to invert this setting only when using the chuck.
