I’m setting up my newest rotary and second machine. Have a issue I have never ran into.
PPR does nothing when it’s changed. It appears it’s framing the part but at a high speed. The only difference in my two machines are the model of Rudia. The old is running a RDC6445G with V15 firmware. The new is RDC 6445S with V24. Both machines have DM542S drivers using a toggle switch for the Y axis. I’m running LB version 9.24. Has anyone ran into this issue? Thanks
So is it a chuck or roller model?
Is it properly selected (chuck or roller) in the rotary ‘gui’?
How did you compute steps/rotation?
Are the stepper driver boards configured to the same settings (switches?)
It will frame at whatever speed you have set on the control panel under ‘speed’…
Is it properly selected (chuck or roller) in the rotary ‘gui’? Roller/ Yes
How did you compute steps/rotation? Configured driver to 3400 Pul/Rev and 3475 Pul/Rotation in LB the wrote it to controller.
Are the stepper driver boards configured to the same settings (switches?) Yes
If I’m using LB or RDW there is no response to changes made by the software. Thanks
LightBurn Gurus,
I believe the Rudia 6445S is a newer version or at least this firmware is. Have y’all possibly been able to use this same combination of LB V9.24 and the RDC6445S? Maybe upgrading LB to 1.04?
The RDC6445S with version V26.01.13 firmware will not allow me to change the pulse per revolution for the rotary. The controller HMI shows it’s in rotary with the ppr changed. Possibly does anyone on site have a older firmware version? Thanks
What is the motor/roller ratio? Is that where you got that value?
Seems like a small ratio if that’s the case.
There’s been lots of goodies added since your version. Being up to date is usually a requirement if you want help from people. Most of these older versions are available just in case you have an issue and want to roll back to an earlier version.
Unless you know it’s a firmware issue, don’t complicate your problem any further guessing.
Do both machine have the same configuration?
Assuming you have backups of them both, can you load the working configuration on the non working machine and see what happens???
Fixed by down loading the newest firmware this morning. Been down this Rudia road before. Went to V26.01.15.
Glad you’re back up…
Take care, have fun…
Rudia needs to clearly post white papers on their firmware release’s.
