I’m running GRBL 1.1g on an Arduino Uno + CNC shield v3 and using the (X+A) and Y for my direction steppers and wish to add a rotary too. Can I use the Z axis as the rotary and would it scale correctly?
I don’t know the particulars for the Arduino/shield combination, if you can use the Z it should not be a problem… It’s how you setup your rotary…
Good luck
I am running the same arduino uno+cnc sheild v3 but with a corexy kinematics, my rotary is on the z, since I designed and 3d printed it, I had fun calibrating it on the z but it scales from a beer can to a 14" clay pot just fine for me. I wish the Z had the angle/step option like it does on the y but it works
If there are applicable options that are beneficial, post them in Feature Suggestions and post a notice so we can vote on them. If they are popular enough and can be implemented the Lightburn people usually do what’s requested…
Good luck
