something mechanical
Scale this test pattern to fit the platform and run it as fast as it will go in Line
mode with optimizations turned off and power set to mark cardboard:

Any distortion in the results on the cardboard indicates a mechanical problem.
That’s necessary, but not sufficient. If the test shows any backlash, then the hunt begins:

hi all…
my laser is Laser Tree LT 40W f23…motherboard MKS dlc 32 v2.1…working area frame is 600x500…2 motors on Y axis and 1 motor on Z axis.
I tried to make material test and photo image on the slate coaster, and it engraved double or unclear.I tried several speeds and powers and it does the same.
Speed mm/min 2000 - 2500 - 3000 - 3500 - 4000
Power 20%
Dithering - Stucki - Atkinson
imagR - Norton black slate.
I have been trying this for 1 week. On plywood is same…on anodized aluminium …
In particular, note this series of fixes / adjustments:
Hello:
I have a non-linear scale problem when patterning an alignment grid on a waste board.
I am using the newest Light Burn version V1.5.01 with an extended version (400 mm x 800 mm) Ortur Laser Master Pro 2.
On my first grid pattern attempt, I made a 1 in grid pattern in Light Burn. The line width was narrow measuring a 7 mil in line on test burns. I offset the line on both sides, removed the reference line, and filled the offset line to make a 20 mil in line. I set the direction of the fi…
Good hunting!
