Rubber Stamp. Making tips and tricks?

I saw that, for the moment, Lightburn doesn’t have a ‘ramp’ mode for stamp making, so I guess I’m going to have to use RDWorks.

My wife wants some stamps for the classroom, but I’ve never etched rubber before - any tips?

I have a (true!) 40W and a 100W available.

I would rather use the 40W as I suspect etching rubber will be a dirty business and the 100W is used for clean jobs.

I’ve ordered some 2.3mm ‘laser etching rubber sheet’ - can anyone give me some base settings and/or tips?

Ramp mode isn’t entirely necessary - though it does help if you’re making stamps that have very thin details, or are very deep. I haven’t done them myself though, so I won’t be much help with the settings.

I have played around and found that if you do multiple passes with lower power, you have less chances of burning the rubber.

With an 80W laser I run stamp rubber at 85% power at 150mm/s That seems to get me a deep enough engrave, without burning right through the rubber.

Thanks folks. I’ll give it a go.
