My Question isn’t about HWD compatibility with Lightburn, it’s all it would let me select in categories that was close.
I need help with my Ruida 644xg controller, on my 50w Blue/white China laser (the manual shows Morn). When I turn on my CO2 laser, select “File” I see 12 files in memory. But then instead of a preview in the botton right panel it changes the “No Device Found” and stops taking input. I can’t select any actions.
What I know;
If I rum from Lightburn, controller and laser works, burns fine.
If I try to select a file from memory it does not display any file info, I can esc, then the panel clears and nothing works. I turn off/on I get another attempt, but again in a few seconds, I get “No device Found.” again.
I have12 files showing in memory but can’t access them.
It try to read from USB, It is formatted FAT32. When I try, and select read USB the panel locks up and I have to run off/on the Laser.
The used Laser was given to me by Daughter/Son in law. so I am new at this.
Ruida may act a bit strange, or not work at all if it’s memory gets full. You can usually save these files to a usb stick. Last ditch effort is to delete them all from memory.
I’ve done it through Lightburn in the Files tab, you may have to enable it via the window menu.
Before I got too upset I’d delete the files and see if it likes that better.
No, I don’t need those files. I would just prefer to clear them out.
Thanks for the advice. I’m gonna give you two method to try. My son-in-law‘s daughter used Mac. I’m using windows. I’m having a funny feeling that might be the issue. So again, I’m just gonna try your advice to clear it out. Thank you very much. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
Thank you. The method from Lightburn worked. direct from the laser controller did not at first.
I when I went to controller first it still just locked up. to I tried the method from Lightburn and it deleted the files! I then went to the controller and all works as expected! Thank you.
Double check that the usb drive still reads in at other computers? if it was formatted using Mac, it may help to reformat it using Windows.
Does the USB drive have a flashing led for activity? Does it light up when you plug it in to the Ruida and try to read?
You could try plugging the USB drive directly into the USB port at the Ruida controller - if its an older machine, the USB port at the chassis may have loose or dull connectors and may need to be replaced.
My point was as soon as I hit fill it lock saying no device connected. Then the control locked up and I had to cycle the laser turning off then back on to try again.
The post above from NicholasL solved my problem Removing the files via Lightburn Laser control.
The issue turned out to be that my son in law uses a Mac, So all the files were looking for his mac device. When I deleted the files using Lightburn control I was able to delete them. then I went to the laser and formatted the memory. Then boom everything works now even the USB. Not sure of the connection there but as of now everything works as expect, from Lightburn, from the Ruida.
