I beat my head against the wall all day long trying to fix this issue. I read every post here (I think) regarding the issue but none solved the problem I was having. When the system reset on startup, the laser would home to the left rear corner of the bed and then chatter like heck as it tried to go beyond what should have been 0,0.
The controller fee was reading 10,000 for X and 10,000 for Y on a machine that has a bed of 400 x 600mm. I tried the various suggested “fixes”, but here was the problem with my particular machine. When I had been cleaning it, I bumped the Y axis switch located at the back of the machine. It moved just enough to not actuate (the light on the switch didn’t trigger) when the gantry was at full rear of the machine.
The Fix: I manually tipped the Y axis limiter switch toward the front of the machine. Tested that the switch was activated by arrowing the gantry to full rear and observed that the switch light now indicated it sensed the gantry. Turned the machine off, and turned it back on.
That’s it. Now a press of the reset button and everything homed as before I cleaned the machine. Turning the machine off, then on, resulted in a normal reset. Everything back to normal.
