Ruida power question

I just started using my ruida controller and set the max power at 70% ( trying not to over drive my tube. Now for example when I set the power at 50% in lightburn is 50% of the tubes max or of my max setting of 70%. Thanks

I think the range is used, whereas 70% equating to 100% in the layer…

I’ll have to try this … seems to me it’s across the range.

The proper way to set up the proper current is via the lps current adjustment in the lps itself.

Mine is almost impossible to get to, and when you get to it you can’t read the meter… this is from the back electronic cabinet with the phone on the floor of the machine…

Run a 50% pwm pulse long enough for a mA meter reading and adjust the lps to 1/2 your maximum current (or whatever you wish to be maximum current).

Lightburn will align with 100% as that maximum power…

When your tube lases, it will draw 100% of what the supply can produce.

Run 50% power on a pulse and you read 20mA, the tube is drawing 40mA…

Don’t get overly excited about too much current… I run mine at 80 to 85% without worry and have been for almost a couple of years.

Tubes are in fact ‘consumables’ and you don’t want to abuse them but you need to use them…
