I have a Ruida machine I am trying to set up, it seems there is no power variation. Waiting on a Ma meter to come tomorrow so I can monitor.
The issue I am having is, even at 1% power from light burn (machine controller is set to 1% min 90% max) - I get the same engrave ad cut result as at 20, 30, 40% etc.
I have read a thread that it could be the PS so I have ordered one (my machine is a 60w but ordered 80W - should be fine right?) so I can get it tomorrow as I have a huge backlog of orders.
If this is a new behavior I’m inclined to think it’s the power supply as well.
I believe that incorrectly connecting the ‘enable’ or ‘safety switches’ to the PWM input could be made to cause the laser to fire at full power whenever it was commanded to fire at any power level.
I noticed your profile says Grbl and you say Ruida. I’d like to know if your laser has typically light (self-warming) wiring or if it’s been upgraded after it landed by a reseller. Few resellers do this so it may be worth a look.
