I am currently running the machine using the proprietary cutting software that processes bit-images and I am wondering whether
-
Lightburn instead of the proprietary software would work
-
there would be any gain in resolution, i.e. whether the current resolution is software-determined or hardware-determined by the stepper-motors?
Does anyone have practical experience in that direction?
It would be good to know before taking out a Lightburn license
Thanks for your responses !

Lightburn has a no obligation trial period. Cost you nothing to try it out.

If it’s the one I’ve seen around, a squarish green cube, I doubt it.
I’ve seen people looking for other software, but no one has ever stated it would run off Lightburn or any other piece of software.
You can always do as @JimNM advised and try it… I’d suspect it not designed for any other software.
Good luck

They seem to come in different guises, but it is indeed a small cube, so we are probably talking about the same thing.
So far I heard mixed messages about using other software, but I wondered, whether anyone here had already tried it …

I found this article that might help. I suggest you read it in it’s entirety, including comments before any attempt to change things around.
One of the users has attempted to use Lightburn with no success.
It’s in German, I think, my browser gave me the option of translate to English.
Good luck

Thanks, that will be useful. I only searched for KKMoon, not for K3 …
German is not an issue, as this is actually my mother-tongue
