I’m curious to try these and see how they work.
What’s the best way to keep and continue using 2.0.05 while testing 2.1 on the same computer?

The only practical way is to use the pre-release version of 2.1. Pre-releases always run alongside with the stable version.
You might also be able to select a different install location while installing. I never tried this ![]()
Thanks Melvin
That’s usually my go to method. Some software will automatically delete the old version and I’m not sure if LB is one of them.
You can do this but they will still use the same prefs. Which would be bad - 2.0 will just remove things from 2.1 that it doesn’t understand.
So install to a different directory as suggested but then go to that directory and make a shortcut to the LightBurn.exe file
Edit the link and add --prefsdir <new_prefs_path> replacing the path with something reasonable.
It will then store 2.1’s prefs at that location and not interfere with the 2.0 version.
That worked, thanks.
Now on to testing the new version
Update:
I exported the Bundle from 2.0.05 then imported it into 2.1 and everything worked as expected. In other words all settings are the same in both versions.
