Rykon controller support

I’m looking at purchasing this OMTech 130W CO2 laser, but I see that it has a Rykon controller. Does anybody have experience using lasers with this controller with LightBurn? Is it fully supported? OMTech claims it is LightBurn compatible, but I could not find anything here or any 3rd party information on the level of support for this driver.

After further investigation I found that Rykon seems to be a typo. I’m seeing all kinds of posts about Ryxon controllers. I informed OMTech of this typo and they said they’re actually switching to Ruida controllers anyways, so it looks like this is a moot point.

Sorry for the forum spam, I’m new to laser cutters. Go easy on me. :upside_down_face:

It’s not a typo…

There are Ryxon controllers, the KT332N is an example.

They show up on these machines quite frequently.

Even on OMTech machines.

Definitely not a typo, maybe, just not being totally truthful … maybe…

They seem to be Ruida controller, maybe a lower cost alternative…

If I were purchasing another machine, I’d ensure it had a Ruida with at least a 644x type, such as a 6442 or 6445…

Lots of people here use them, I think @ednisley has one… maybe he’ll chime it about it…

There’s been lots of discussion on if the KT332 is really a Ruida…

I know it must be true, because I found it on the Internet. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Good luck

OMTech sent me a copy of that when I wondered why they advertised a Ruida controller and shipped something else. I get the impression Ruida absorbed Ryxon at some point, but I admit I can’t follow that stuff.

Works fine, for what it is, but I miss all those fancy LEDs you folks have …

I think it’s a lower cost controller… no telling where else they cut costs… I’ve heard zero complaints about them.

That’s why I advised him to ensure he gets one of the more common 644x types.

The typo I’m referring to is Rykon(K) vs Ryxon(X).
