Saving Preview image with transparent background

I know that features requests should be made using the https://lightburn.fider.io/ site, But…
Before I post a request there I was just wondering if it is even possible to remove the background (or make the background transparent) when saving the Preview Image.

If it can be done it would be really useful for creating mockups of engraving for use on sales websites and for sending to customers to show exactly what their design will look like on a specific cutting board.

I just recently discovered that there are websites that will remove the background from an image (https://www.remove.bg/) that can do this, but if it is an easy transformation to perform it would be great if LightBurn provided that as an option when saving the preview.

I could probably do this, or have an option to do this. I’ll have to check. We clear the background to a visible white, but I can probably clear to transparent. I might do it as a Shift+Click on the save preview button if it’s simple.

This would be a fantastic addition…

It’s done.

That easily?
kudos!

So to get this to work do we need to need to download a new version/update?

Yes, when we release it.
