Sculpfun s30 pro max wavy lines

I have a Sculpfun S30 Pro Max 20W that I bought a little over a month ago. A few days ago I noticed that the engraved lines started coming out with small waves, and now I can’t work at higher speeds anymore because the lines become distorted.

I have already tried several things:

  • Lowering the acceleration
  • Checking and tightening the entire machine structure
  • Swapping the X and Y motors
  • Tensioning all belts

I also ran tests using LightBurn and directly with GRBL, and the problem still happens.

I have searched in many places but still can’t figure out what could be causing this.

At speeds above 1000 mm/min, all lines start to look shaky or wavy.

I noticed that the vibration happens mainly at the start of the movement and at the end of the lines.

Does anyone know what could be causi

g this?

Loose laser module.
Loose belts.
Loose set screws.
Velocity too high.
Frame slipping back and forth.

Go through this guide:

Twice.

The issue is mechanical; the head is not fixed as it should be.

This test pattern is useful to identify mechanical problems:

Backlash.lbrn2

Scale it uniformly to fill the platform and run it as fast as the machine will go in Line layer mode with Enable optimizations turned off and power set to mark a sheet of cardboard. Any differences from the design will be informative; a crisp photo will let us look over your shoulder.

Okay, I’ll take the test and get back to you with the results.
