Sculpfun S30 Pro - nozzle keeps clogging

Hi all

I have a Sculpfun s 30 pro 10 W. i am currently using lightburn version 1.7.03. My laser has been clogging the last couple of weeks. Steps I have taken:

. I realized that for some or other reason my air assist stopped switching on automatically, so I fixed that with the M8 prompt. My air assist pump feels like its heating up aswell, and I’m not sure if it’s working like its supposed to, however there are no blockages anywhere. My air assist is connected to the machine itself, not a separate power source.
I align my laser focus every time I put in a new piece of wood.
I have cleaned the lens numerous times.
I realized that raw wood tends to make more dust and sticky clumps around the nozzle and switched back to MDF 3mm.
I am currently cutting on 180 speed and 100% power on 1 pass that goes through with a piece stuck here and there. I have tried two passes on 400 and 80 power yet, it doesn’t cut right through.

Please help!
Husband says i should replace the nozzle as one it’s starts clumping it’s not going to stop.

Where did you place the pump? It needs to be outside the enclosure. You can open and clean the pump housing.
If M8 still works, your configuration is incorrect, the automatic switch will work then as well.
Enhance ventilation in your enclosure, especially get some air flow across the work piece to remove the dust more effectively.

Thanks! I work in a big open space so the pump is about 50cm away from the machine, but there are doors and windows open. I will try to remove the pump housing. I struggled to get Lightburn to pick up the s30 when connecting them, so i downloaded a driver for the sculpfun. Do you think this has an influence? GRBL and software are not my strongpoints!

Yes, but the smoke gets to the pump long before it gets to the door. 20" is not nearly far enough. If you can’t move it, maybe put it 6" to 12" inside a 3’ length of dryer vent hose hanging over the edge of the table. Cover the end closest to the laser so it can pull fresh air only from the floor area.

If the air pump was getting overheated, it is likely a good idea to disassemble it and clean it too. I saw a procedure or video for this, but I cannot find it. Maybe @misken knows where it is.

I added 3 little 1" fans to blow across my setup. Maybe you can add a 4" fan that looks like a computer fan. They are available in various DC and AC voltages.

The nozzle can be cleaned, If subsequent clogging or buildup is a potential issue, spray it with dry silicone lubricant.

Ha! I knew I saw it somewhere. Bad me just scanned the index on the right side. Thanks!
