I have a TOOCAA L2 40 watt Laser. and when I first took it from the box, I used the TOOCAA studio software, and this software found the Laser, but it cannot be found with LIGHTBURN. I felt that I needed more control, so I downloaded the trial version of LIGHTBURN core 2.1.02 to see if this would work…so far, not yet, I am new to lasering. My computer is an Asus Windows 10, and am connecting via USB cable. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes it needs a different driver to recognize the machine. Don’t know in your case, didn’t look past anything that was in the advertisement. It does work with Lightburn, so I’d see if they have some type of device setup file you can use with Lightburn.
They have a Facebook presents, that may help get you functional.
You might try creating a new device using the manual method. It is really easy to do, and be sure to select GRBL without any extra characters.
Right now my problem is that ever since I started trying to use Lightburn, I no longer have either the X or Y travel at all in either the Lightburn or TooCaa Studio. I did get lightburn to find my laser. Is there a setting(s) that got changed in the Lightburn that also will affect the toocaa studio? I know you may need more information about this, let me know.
LightBurn won’t, on its own, change any settings on your laser that could cause it to stop working in other apps.
The “Find My Laser” feature that you used can’t detect all the necessary settings in some cases.
Their manual mentions a LightBurn Device profile that you can import to add the device.
A couple of things specific to the L2:
The driver shouldn’t be an issue if you were able to connect previously. So far, I couldn’t find a download on their site.
Do you see the device in the Windows Device Manager, and does it disappear when you unplug it?
OK, I did get hooked up and light burn did recognize my L2 40 Watt laser, The way I did it was to follow the TOOCAA websites “Taking your Laser Offline” , there are 16 steps to do this, and requires you to take the driver from the TF card and install it into Lightburn. That is when my real problem started, the X and Y axis’s would no longer travel. For some reason according to TOOCAA there was a power fluctuation and blew out my motherboard according to the TOOCAA support, they sent the problem to their R & D to get me a new motherboard. Don’t know how long this is expected to take as when I asked about ETA, (several days ago) I never got a reply. As far as connecting to Lightburn, I did get it to connect and recognize the laser, just since then I have not been able to use my laser.
That’s rough. Good to hear that their support is helping. I hope the replacement arrives in time and the swap goes smoothly.
