Searching for an estimate of laser cutting time

Hi all. New to this forum and did not find an answer in the archives.
Q: is there a way to ask LightBurn for an estimate of the laser cutting time of my project? If it would provide an estimate of that time, I know when to return to my garage to switch off the compressor for the air assist. It knows cutting length, speed, and number of passes, so that should be possible, right?

Thanks for your time, sincerely, Kees Jalink

This feature is found in LightBurn, you can see the estimated time in the preview window. But, it is a very bad idea to leave a laser machine while it is in operation! You will not be the first nor the last to risk burning down the house. Not even with video surveillance is it safe you can believe me.

Thanks Bernd,

but I prepare the code in lightburn and then transfer it to android tablet so I burn in the garage without putting an extra PC there (concrete garage, no fire hazard). Using freeware grbl plotter app.
So that leaves open the Q: how do I find out aforehead how long the cut will take?

Thanks, Kees.

You will find it in preview

My explanation was not the best I will try again. Depending on the controller type, you can find the settings here (see picture), be aware that you must read data from the controller for LoightBurn to calculate the time correctly. For me, the calculated time fits very well with reality.

I use the preview button and that give a time for the job to complete

Thanks. That answers the Q fine.

Have a nice day.
