I understand totally about the reason for dropping the Lightburn support due to such a low user-base. However, things have changed on the OS front since 2024 and is continuing to change rapidly with the rapid decline of Win11 and the massive growth of Linux, especially Linux Mint.
I recently dumped Win11 for Linux and so far am am pleased I did. However I had to keep my laptop on win11 which I only keep for Lightburn and now Millmage. I would drop the ever intrusive win11 in a heartbeat id Millmage was available for Linux.
I was a Carveco subscriber but just being a hobbyist it was hard to justify, so was planning to sell my CNC router. Then with the introduction of Millmage I decided to download the trial which I am currently evaluating. The chances are I will purchase it and upgrade to Pro. Maillmage is highly likely to become mainstream, especially when Pro version is released, there is a lot of potential for Lightburn to capture what would be a rapidly expanding user-base.
With this change in mind will the Lighburn/Millmage team reconsider and if so, I’ll be dumping Win11 completely.

I for one would be a new user for Lightburn, and I have Linux only.
While I understand the reasons that had you drop supporting Linux users (no money to make), I seem to be facing to buy a more than 2 year old, non-updatable version 1.7 at the same full price as the Windows version 2.x that has many new features, and includes 1 year updates.
Would it be possible to offer a cheap “abandonware” license for version 1.7 (linux only), for non-commercial use?
I would of course be more than happy to pay full price for a supported, up to date Linux version (AppImage would do).
New to MillMage and late to this conversation… Has anyone tried running MillMage for Windows under linux WINE (Windows compatibility layer)? If it works, perhaps this could be an acceptable path forward.
