Setting for the z axis

Hi forum members
Can anyone help me with this please
On a flat surface, it doesn´t matter what number I write
in the Move windows, the Z-axis travels about 20mm both up or down.
What´s the settings in the consol window to get the z-axis to move
what I tell it to do. I enclose a copie of my consol settings

$1=250
$2=0

Because homing is disabled, the controller will set the Z axis origin to the position at startup. If you then use G90 absolute coordinates for the Z axis, the motion will be based on the startup origin, which will generally be different at each startup.

The Z axis maximum speed and acceleration values are extremely high for a leadscrew axis. Most likely, the motor stalls due to the high acceleration, after which it may stumble along in either direction at a subharmonic of the intended speed; the rotor simply cannot keep up with the rotating magnetic field.

Reduce the Z axis speed to 100 mm/m and the acceleration to 100 mm/s². If it behaves properly, then you can tune for best results.

This is about 8” travel, which is unlikely for a diode laser.

How are you telling it to move in Z?

I type in for ex. 10 mm

Move window? Console window?
