Setting up GRBL-LPC on K40 Mini with C3D Laserboard

Hi, I have a K40 Mini with a recently installed C3D Laserboard. I have Smoothie Cluster installed and configured and it seems to be working (no grinding, homes properly, go to origin works, laser fires and completes jobs). My problem is speed, I have read that Smoothie Cluster max’s out at 240 mm / sec which is what I seem to be running up against. Predicted job times in Lightburn seem to take 2x longer.
I am referring to shape fills, not image engraving. See my post on the C3D forum

I have also read that GRBL-LPC does not have this speed limit, so I installed it and was able to verify that it overcomes the speed limits but so far I have not been able to configure it to behave as expected with regards to not grinding, homing properly, going to origin. Besides this, the speed moving to starting point was way too fast causing the starting position to jump.

I found a cheat sheet here and was able to use the console to enter these settings but they did not solve my issues, I understand they were for someone else’s K40 but I thought it might give me a starting point.
Is there a step by step guide to getting this working properly, I have not been able to find one so far.

I am also thinking it might make sense to have two SD cards for jumping back and fourth quickly, once this is working between Smoothie and GRBL-LPC.

Any help will be appreciated.
