Using a lap map image to cutout and engrave. I trace the image and am able to cutout lake. But the roads in the trace are not in focus or distorted. The image take hours to burn. And is there a way no go over certain sections of the image like the lake?

I do a lot of these and it is easier to do it in say Photoshop by far…even just Elements is fine…or whatever photo editing software you choose. LB is limited in any editing like that as it is not designed for that. So IMHO best to edit this in an external program like PS and create different layers there to then import back in.
I do it all the time.
