As the title says, I’m just setting up my new XLaserlab E3 in Lightburn. I’ve followed the video that XLaserlab provide but when I try to laser something it’s using the red framing laser instead of the main UV laser. It also invokes the framing dialogue at the same time (which might be expected behaviour). Has anyone got any ideas?
EDIT: I’ve found a setting that controls whether the framing dialogue is shown automatically, so this was expected behaviour.
Hi @MikeyH, no there’s no mention of a .lbdev file in the video. XLaserlab seem to be a bit slow in getting their documentation and software where it should be at this point in time.
Ok, so I got it working . I had already loaded the galvo configuration file “C:/Program Files (x86)/Edone/config/lcsparam_b.cor” for the “B” lens. But it seems I also needed to import the config file “C:\Program Files (x86)\Edone\config\lcsdefparam.cfg”. The red framing laser needs aligning but that should be simple enough to do. Now I need to run some material tests to work out the engraving settings required to get the desired results.
I’m glad you solved it and let us know what the solution was.
On my fiber, the stock lens correction was located in the main file markcfg7. This file needs to be loaded as it configures the control board interface. However, when I put in one of my other lenses, I still have to load the basic configuration, then the cor file for that particular lens.
I don’t have a UV, but it seems very much like you figured it out and it seems to work like other galvo machine.
