Setting Up Sculpfun Rotary

Hello… I am setting up my first Sculpfun Rotary and wondering… in Lightburn the “mm per rotation”. If I find a good setting for one object, do I have to determine it again for something larger. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

No. MM per rotation should not change for different project. To see if the mm per rotation is correct. To check it i place a mark on the top dead center of the rotary chuck. Then from the laser screen run a test. The chuck should rotate and then stop exactly where it started with the mark top dead center. Mine makes two rotations one in each direction but your machine may be different.

Wait!!! My instructions were for chuck. But i would assume the same would apply to rotary. Are you using a Rotary or a Chuck?

I tried setting up the rotary to my Sculpfun S30 and got this:\

I followed the directions given, but I don’t know what I did wrong.

Let’s start by addressing the first alarm, Alarm 1: GRBL Errors - LightBurn Documentation

What start from position are you using in your laser tab? Current position is recommended for rotary mode.

Here’s our rotary documentation for your reference: Rotary Mode (GCode) - LightBurn Documentation
