Setting up xTool S1 with new xTool device type in LB 1.7 and Beyond

Lightburn xTool-S1 20w LB 1.7Beta
Lightburn grbl xTool-S1 20w
The first video (V1 xTool S1 LB 1.7Beta) refers to a process using the xTool_S1 device in LB 1.7 Beta (Photo Lightburn xTool-S1 20w LB 1.7Beta.jpg)
while in the second video (V2-GRBL_xTool S1.mp4) I use the device installed using the file: [xTOOL_S1_V2.lbdev] downloaded from the xTool site (photo Lightburn grbl xTool-S1 20w.jpg)
In the first video the laser moves very slowly from the first to the second incision, while in the second video you can see that it is faster.
So I was wondering if you can also increase the speed using the xTool_S1 device in LB 1.7 Beta.
Thank you

I can’t upload the videos, how can I get them to you?
Thank you

Possibly upload them to google drive and provide the links. Either here or in a PM.

I got something weird too,

ok

i can give you a video if you need ?

Today during a process I encountered a problem during the filling phase…

In the left side photo you can see the result obtained using the xTool S1 device in LB 1.7 Beta.
While on the right side the result obtained using the xTool-S1 GRBL device installed using xTOOL_S1_V2.lbdev

Of course I used the same power/speed and Z-axis height settings

I design a shape and some text.

.
I switch to another machine with different origin.
image
.
I flip shape and text.

.
If I edit text, it auto flips and remains flipped.

Tried a normal GRBL:

  • Fire the laser

  • Then move to position with buttons

  • No movement and this happens:

  • image

  • Closed Lightburn laser keeps on at 0.05.

  • Restarted Lightburn laser still on (pressed fire to off).

  • I repeated the tasks and the same thing happened.

  • Tried homing the laser and it homes.

  • After homing iI was able to jog the laser with fire ON.

This looks like overscan is turned off on the left

Text orientation is defined by the machine origin. If save the file, close it switch to your device with the alternate origin and then open the file again, the flip will not happen.

I understand this is annoying and we have discussed ways of fixing it for a while but currently this is the workflow to avoid the flip.

Are these settings modifiable only by you programmers?
Thank you

The text orientation? Yes it’s just how fonts work in LB currently.

Does this screenshot help you?

I know thanks.
For the time being, I’ve managed to solve all the software/hardware problems that have arisen and I’m just posting the strange things that happen to keep you developers informed.

How can I change back to the 6 and get rid of 7 since it don’t seam to work yet

Just download and install 1.6.

What is not working for you on 1.7?

Not doing the correct sizes makes the width bigger and the length my lightburn shows 6 at the top but o followed the directions as seen in the article

This is what it’s showing when I click about lightburn

You are not using the right build. Go to the google drive link at the very top and install 1.7 and try again.

I’m using an apple Mac

There is a 1.7 build for all our supported OS’s in that folder. I have been testing this version on Mac as well.
