Setting User Orgin

I am new to lasers so bear with me. I am using an Ortur LM3 20w laser and a YRR 2 rotary. with Lightburn 1.4.03.

I am trying to engrave a 30 oz tumbler. The problem I am having is, when I start engraving, the rotary spins about 2 inches before the engraving starts. That puts my logo out of position. Right now I am using Absolute Coorordinates. I think I need to use “User Origin” but there is no “Set User Origin” button as Lightburn instructions suggest. Does anyone have any recommendations.

This is normally located in Move window. If not there, check if “Beginner Mode” is enabled in Edit->Settings. If neither of those work, check what device type you have configured by push Devices button in Laser window. Click once on the name of your laser. What does it show at bottom?

In my opinion, you should use “current position”. User origin is not required here, that’s more common if you want to do repetitive work. For a tumbler, just set it to current position, move the laser where you want to start and then start the job. Make sure to have “cut selected graphics” and “use selection origin” enabled as well. Then you just select the things you want to have sent to the laser and see the green square indicating your current start position.

I will try that next. I’m in the middle of a burn right now. Thanks for the help.

I did find per Lightburns I clicked OFF Beginner mode and the Set Origin Buttons did appread in the Move section. Once I was able to Set Origin, all worked out. Trying User Origin now. Will try Current Possition Next as suggested.

Current Position worked as well not that I can set position.
