I’ve had my K40 for several years and recently decided to upgrade the old Nano controller to a monport controller. I plugged everything up and everything works, limits and all. The only problem I have is the laser intensity has to be off. The laser is firing way too hot. I have to set power way down or I get scortched earth. I can’t set any higher than 25% power on hard maple to keep from roasting the object. I even get a good burned line with just 1% power when I do a trace to line up my piece. I checked to make sure my $30 in the console and the Svalue MAX in the device settings both = 1000. I found an old thread on here where someone had the same issue, but there was no solution posted. I don’t know enough about the coding, but if I change the svalue max to 500 in the device settings, would that change the scale of intensity to when I set power to 100% in Lightburn, the laser would actually max out at 50% power? Basicly cutting the scale in half and giving me a greater control of the burn? Another question would be what should my the baud rate be set at? (currently 115,200) I know that has something to do with the resolution of the engraving but not sure what it should be set at?
