Settings M3 to M4

Hello
I own an Ortur LM3 LE 10W and I would like to ask about a few things that I don’t know.
Down in LIGHTBURN, where the device connection is set, I have - COM3, GRBL-M3 (1.1 or earlier)
Please, how do I set the laser to work in the M4?
I feel that it has very little power.
Cardboard 3mm cut to set:
performance 100%
Speed: 300mm/minute

I need to cut 3mm plywood and it won’t cut it even in 5 passes.

I think the M3 setting is to blame and I don’t have the M4 option.

$I

My English is very bad. Google Translator :man_shrugging:

M4 will never be available if the laser has been setup as GRBL-M3.

Push Devices button in Laser window, then edit your laser profile, change device type to “GRBL”, then complete the wizard.

At that point, as long as you don’t use “Constant Power Mode” in Cut settings you will be using M4.

Sorry for the confusing question. It was my misunderstanding.

I have a problem and I am very sad about it.
I don’t know what to do with it.
The Ortur 10W laser can’t even cut a 3mm MDF board.
Speed 150mm/m, Power 100, 3x Passage.
And it still won’t cut it. I am very bad about it.
I need it for work, making hexagon paneling for the walls.
Please don’t know what to do with it? Some setting in LightBurn somewhere?
According to the table, this laser must be able to handle it.
But I do not know how.

Cutting 3mm MDF is non-trivial. Make sure your lens is clean and check focus. Don’t rely on the focus setting device. Do a proper focus test at varying heights and pick the most focused height.

Then suggest you run a material test with the confirmed focus height. That will give you a good view of what the best settings would be.

Also, if you’re not already doing so, air assist is extremely useful for this type of cut.
