shapes (like rectangle and regular polygon) are drawn incomplete by the laser. For example a rectangle is drawn with incomplete corners. The polygon has incomplete where the segments come together.
Win 7 and an xtool d1 pro.

Can you take a photo of the burn and also a screenshot of Lightburn with the design loaded?

If you’re okay sharing the .lbrn that would also be useful.

Here the are

test1.lbrn2 (15.2 KB)

I had this happen after experimenting with ‘kerf offset’ on the layer. I had forgotten to put it back to default.

I’m not in a position to be able to look at the lbrn2 file, but what’s your minimum burn percentage? If it’s lower than your tube firing voltage then as the head slows down for a corner the tube won’t fire.

I have an xtool d1 pro, which is a diode laser machine.

Thanks, but it’s set to 0.00 (off)

I’m not certain but what I think is happening is that the laser is dropping power when it needs to slow down for the corners. It’s having to do so quite a lot because your speed is unusually high. The laser is likely overcompensating the power reduction and the laser is dropping out.

Slow down your speeds to something more reasonable like 1000 mm/min or even slower and see if that resolves the issue.

I’d guess this is likely a bug in the firmware but line operations like this are not typically expected to be run so fast and realistically you’re not getting anywhere close to those speeds in actuality.

I changed it to 45 mm/Sec and that seemed to fix most of the edges, there were a couple that still had small amounts of open space between segments. Those were quite a bit smaller. What Lightburn had were the defaults. Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad that worked. Note that 45 mm/s would still be considered quite fast for a line operation like this.

On a side note, I’d suggest you moving to mm/min units if you’re using a diode laser. It will make comparisons with other settings much easier since that’s a de facto standard for diode lasers. This can be done in Edit->Settings.
